In diesem Interview schildert er, wie sich Cisco wieder einmal auf den Weg gemacht hat, dieses Mal sechs Jahre lang, um vom “command and control management” zu “collaboration and teamwork” zu gelangen. Die neue Struktur basiert auf “business networks”, Web 2.0-Technologien und auf Managern, die “aus der Mitte führen”. “To align educational practice to 21st century workforce needs, a transformation is in order:
- Curricula must be created that do a better job of preparing students to thrive in a globally networked, increasingly information-driven economy.
- Enabling technology must be integrated more fully and consistently into the pedagogy.
- Today’s connected learners require methods of engagement that correspond to the ways they interrelate and communicate outside the classroom.
- Education systems must become less compartmentalized and insular by seeking partnerships inside and outside the education community.”

Diese Punkte sind gut und richtig. Im zweiten Teil des Artikels wird dann beschrieben, wie die Cisco Networking Academy diese Entwicklungen in ihren Programmen umsetzt. Und hier wird’s speziell.
