Making the Business Case for Informal Learning

Posted on 28 September 2007 by jrobes

“How can I demonstrate the value of Informal Learning?” Diese Frage reizte Jay Cross zu einer kurzen Intervention. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir der Hinweis: “If whatever informal learning intervention you are proposing doesn’t have such an obvious payback that you can explain the value proposition on the back of a napkin, pick another project.”

“This morning, someone asked me how to measure informal learning with an LMS. Another proposed using questionnaires to capture the amount of time people spent on informal learning. Folks, this is like trying to tell time with a thermometer. Any results you get are guaranteed to be worthless.”
